Releasing music from Angola: Spotify, Boomplay and prices in 2026

The blue-lit doorway of a small studio on a Luanda street at night

To release music from Angola on Spotify, Boomplay and the other platforms, you need a digital distributor: the stores do not accept uploads straight from artists. Distroline opens accounts in Angola, with support in Portuguese and a lower regional price. This guide covers what you need, what it costs and what we do not do yet.

Where your music will be available

Spotify has been available in Angola since 2021. Distroline also delivers to Boomplay, Apple Music, YouTube Music, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook, Deezer, Amazon Music and other stores. You pick the stores when you create the release.

What it costs in Angola

Angola has regional prices, lower than in Portugal:

  • Free: €0. We keep 10% of royalties.
  • Coliseu: €4.99 a year. You keep 100% of royalties, with YouTube Content ID included.
  • Stage: €12.99 a year, for labels and teams, with unlimited artist names.

The same regional prices apply in Mozambique, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, São Tomé and Príncipe and Timor-Leste. If you cancel a paid plan you move to Free and your music stays online.

How to release, step by step

  1. Create a free account at distroline.com.
  2. Upload the audio as WAV or FLAC. MP3 is accepted too, but an uncompressed file sounds better.
  3. Add the 3000x3000 pixel artwork and the metadata: title, artists, songwriters and credits.
  4. Choose the stores and the release date, with 3 to 4 weeks to spare for the Spotify pitch.
  5. Submit. The release is reviewed and usually reaches the stores in 7 to 10 days.

For each step in detail, see how to put your music on Spotify in 2026.

How you get paid: what you need to know

Today Distroline pays royalties by SEPA bank transfer, to an IBAN. Angolan banks are not in the SEPA area, so before you release, make sure you have an account with an IBAN that can receive euros. If you do not, talk to us before releasing: we would rather tell you now than leave your money waiting.

Kuduro, semba, kizomba and afrohouse

When you fill in the release, choose the genre that best describes the music. The right genre helps stores and playlists find the right audience. For tips on these genres, read Afrohouse, Kizomba and Kuduro on Spotify.
